This class is designed to inspire domestic quilters to become confident with their ability to use free motion designs and techniques to finish their quilt tops. This class is packed full of tips and tricks on managing large quilts on a domestic sewing machine. While mastering the skill of free motion quilting, we will discuss threads, tension, how batting affects the overall look of the quilt and where to place these new design concepts on the quilt to achieve three degrees of texture and balance. These designs offer a quick, easy and accurate way to finish any quilt top. So put away those marking tools and join us for this free motion block party!!

This class covers when and why to choice a 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch ruler depending on your machine and the ruler foot that works best with your own brand of sewing machine. Students will learn to use the new Path Easy rulers to create their own edge to edge quilting, quickly, easily and without the need to send their future quilts to a longarmer for finishing. We will also learn to use a variety of rulers for perfect feathers, a multitude of shapes, and accurate, easy background fills. Come learn how easy it is to RULE YOUR QUILT with tools designed specifically for the home sewing machine quilter. **This class requires a machine with a free motion table or base, ( If you need one call the Shop SAP & we can get one custom ordered to fit your machine) the ability to drop the feed dogs and a ruler foot**

ZenSuedled Whole Cloth Marking Class- by hand, home sewing machine, and longarmHand out fee $7.00This is not your grandma's whole cloth! This “hands on” design class will see you complete a 45 x 45 ZenSuedle Whole Cloth, marked in class, stitched at home. Sue offers a full array of templates, stencils and rulers as she take you step by step through marking your own “one of a kind” ZenSuedle. This is a technique Sue developed that results in a perfect balance of texture and colour every time. It uses artistic quilt motifs, fillers and designs combined with unique placement of colour to create a spectacular, one of a kind, art quilt every time. You will need to bring 2-3 fine tipped wash away marking tools, and a 45 x 45 piece of black or solid dark fabric. Sue will supply everything else needed for the completion of this marking class. The hand out for this class gives you; step- by-step instructions, covers, batting and thread choices. Sue will explain how this complete piece can be easily done, by hand, home sewing machine or by longarm so that each student can finish their one of a kind work of art in the style they prefer

Each Kit will include a pre marked top, batting, and backing in the form of a ready to use quilt sandwich)

Sue Patten is an award-winning longarm quilter. She travels throughout Canada, the US, Europe, Africa, Australia and the UK teaching her unique and innovative quilting styles to longarm, domestic and hand quilters. Her award-winning quilts have been exhibited internationally and she has shared her quilting journey worldwide with her hilariously entertaining truck show and lectures. Sue is always filled with high energy, humor, stories and tips, ensuring her classes and lectures are non-stop education and fun. Sue is the author of Quilting Possibilities and Adaptable Quilting Designs published by AQS. She willingly shares her talents and has designed fabric, thread and stencils; machine, hand and redwork embroidery patterns; machine, hand and computerized quilting designs; innovative whole cloth designs; and a full range of training videos. Over the last decade, Sue's work has been featured in dozens of magazines. She has appeared on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims; America Sews with Sue Hausmann; Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show by QNNtv; and Linda Taylor's Longarm Quilting Show.
A mother of three, Sue resides in Port Rowan, Ontario, Canada when she is not teaching at shows, shops, guilds and retreats.

This class is designed to inspire domestic quilters to become confident with their ability to use free motion designs and techniques to finish their quilt tops. This class is packed full of tips and tricks on managing large quilts on a domestic sewing machine. While mastering the skill of free motion quilting, we will discuss threads, tension, how batting affects the overall look of the quilt and where to place these new design concepts on the quilt to achieve three degrees of texture and balance. These designs offer a quick, easy and accurate way to finish any quilt top. So put away those marking tools and join us for this free motion block party!!Cost $125. plus $20 Kit fee due to Instructor

Divide, Grid And Fill It Up!!
This class will help you to divide and concur all those open spaces, background fills and wide boarders. We will use stencil grids, rulers and free motion quilting to divide and fill areas of the quilt with precision, accuracy, and ease. We will explore the possibilities of using a variety of shapes throughout the quilt as filler spaces and learn how easy it is to create three degrees of texture throughout the quilt, without ever having to pre plan or pre mark our tops before quilting them. This class offers a wide range of ideas for all styles of quilting and will have you feeling confident about tackling all your future quilting projects. Come join in the fun as we Divide Grid and Fill It Up!
